Archiving Policy

Introduction

Preserving the scholarly record for future generations is a core responsibility of academic publishing. The International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology (IJASEIT) ensures the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published content through trusted digital preservation systems. This policy aligns with the COPE Core Practices, the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, and international digital archiving standards.

Description

IJASEIT recognizes the importance of safeguarding academic content against loss due to technological failures, human error, or unforeseen disruptions. To fulfill this responsibility, the journal:

  • Partners with recognized digital archiving services

  • Implements redundant storage systems

  • Maintains persistent identifiers (DOIs) and metadata standards

The journal is currently archived by Portico, a leading preservation service used by academic libraries and publishers to ensure continued access to scholarly literature.

IJASEIT’s archival record is publicly listed in the Keepers Registry and searchable via the ISSN International Centre.

Policy

1. Preservation Service

All articles published in IJASEIT are archived in Portico, a dark archive that guarantees permanent access to digital scholarly content, even in the event of:

  • Journal discontinuation

  • Publisher closure

  • System failure

2. Access and Discoverability

  • Archived content is retrievable via the Portico system by participating libraries and users during trigger events.

  • The journal’s archiving status is documented and verified by the Keepers Registry, ensuring transparency and traceability.

  • The journal’s record can be accessed at:
    https://portal.issn.org/resource/ISSN/2460-6952

3. Article Integrity

  • Archived versions include all components of the publication: full text, figures, tables, metadata, supplementary materials, and licensing information.

  • DOIs remain active and link to the preserved content through cross-archiving networks and metadata harvesting systems.

4. Archiving Triggers and Access

  • Portico enables access to archived IJASEIT content when a trigger event occurs (e.g., content becomes unavailable due to journal closure or catastrophic loss).

  • Access is managed in accordance with Portico’s user agreements and institutional subscriptions.

5. Ongoing Commitment

IJASEIT remains committed to:

  • Updating archival records with each issue

  • Adopting new preservation standards and tools as they evolve

  • Expanding partnerships with additional preservation services if needed

6. Publisher Responsibility

INSIGHT – Indonesian Society for Knowledge and Human Development, the publisher of IJASEIT, actively supports the technical and financial requirements of archiving and preservation.
