Post-publication integrity is essential for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record. The International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology (IJASEIT) recognizes its responsibility to correct the published literature when necessary and to provide a forum for responsible post-publication discourse. This policy is grounded in the COPE Core Practices and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
Even after publication, articles may require correction or clarification. IJASEIT is committed to addressing:
Author-identified errors or oversights
Reader feedback and concerns
Editorial or production errors
Allegations of misconduct or ethical non-compliance
Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern ensure transparency and maintain trust in the academic record. IJASEIT also supports constructive post-publication dialogue, when conducted responsibly and in accordance with academic standards.
IJASEIT publishes the following notices as needed:
Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum): For factual, typographical, or author-contributed errors that do not affect the article's integrity or conclusions.
Retraction: For major errors, misconduct, plagiarism, or unreliable data that invalidate the article's findings.
Expression of Concern: For unresolved or inconclusive investigations into serious concerns that may affect the validity of a published work.
All notices are:
Linked to the original article
Clearly labeled and accessible
Indexed and assigned a DOI for citation and tracking
Requests for corrections or post-publication actions may be initiated by:
Authors
Readers
Editors
Institutional bodies
Such requests must include:
A clear description of the issue
Supporting documentation or evidence
(If by an author) a signed statement from all authors
The editorial team will review the request in accordance with COPE guidelines.
The Editor-in-Chief or designated editors conduct a formal review of the claim.
The editorial team may consult peer reviewers, authors, or external experts.
For serious allegations, the journal may liaise with the author’s institution or ethics board.
Investigations are confidential, and parties are given an opportunity to respond.
IJASEIT welcomes responsible commentary through letters to the editor, formal replies, or academic correspondence.
These contributions are peer reviewed and published when appropriate.
IJASEIT may invite authors of the original work to respond.
To offset the administrative and technical costs involved in processing corrections, retractions, and related editorial updates, IJASEIT may request a reasonable fee. This fee helps cover:
Editorial review and verification
Production updates and indexing
Notification to repositories and databases
Maintenance of digital records
Fee waivers may be considered in cases of editorial error or financial hardship, at the discretion of the editorial board and publisher.
Retractions are issued when:
Data are falsified or fabricated
Plagiarism or duplicate publication is discovered
Ethical violations occur (e.g., lack of consent, unethical experiments)
Major errors invalidate findings
Retracted articles remain accessible but are marked with a clear retraction watermark and explanation.
Authors are expected to notify the journal promptly of any errors discovered post-publication.
Editors act in a timely, impartial, and transparent manner to investigate and respond to concerns.
Readers are encouraged to report errors or concerns via the journal’s contact channels.
This policy is reviewed periodically to incorporate new guidance from COPE and best practices in scholarly communication and digital archiving.
