Repository Policy

Introduction

The right of authors to disseminate their work widely is a fundamental principle of open-access publishing. The International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology (IJASEIT) fully supports self-archiving and the sharing of scholarly outputs through institutional and subject-based repositories. This policy is guided by the COPE Core Practices, the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, and is compliant with the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license under which all IJASEIT articles are published.

Description

Self-archiving—also known as green open access—allows authors to deposit versions of their work in repositories, increasing visibility, accessibility, and citation potential. IJASEIT encourages authors to deposit:

  • Preprints (submitted versions prior to peer review)

  • Postprints (author-accepted versions post peer review)

  • Published versions (Version of Record)

This policy promotes scholarly communication while maintaining transparency and attribution to the official version of the article.

Policy

1. Permitted Versions for Archiving

Authors may deposit the following versions of their manuscripts without embargo:

  • Preprint: The version initially submitted to IJASEIT, prior to peer review.

  • Postprint (Author Accepted Manuscript): The final manuscript version after peer review but before typesetting and publication.

  • Published Version (Version of Record): The fully formatted and typeset version published on the IJASEIT website.

2. Allowed Repositories

Authors are encouraged to deposit their manuscripts in:

  • Institutional repositories

  • Disciplinary or subject-specific repositories (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv, SSRN)

  • National and international open-access platforms (e.g., Zenodo, Europe PMC)

  • Personal or academic websites

  • ResearchGate and similar academic networks (subject to repository licensing compliance)

3. License and Attribution

All deposited versions must:

  • Clearly cite the original publication in IJASEIT, including the article title, author(s), journal name, volume, issue, and DOI

  • Include a link to the Version of Record on the IJASEIT website

  • Be made available under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, permitting reuse with proper attribution

4. Publisher Support and Metadata

  • IJASEIT provides standardized citation metadata and DOIs to ensure discoverability in repositories.

  • Authors may request citation formatting or metadata assistance from the editorial office when archiving their articles.

5. No Embargo Policy

There is no embargo period for self-archiving. Authors may deposit their preprint, postprint, or published version immediately upon publication.

6. Compliance with Funder and Institutional Mandates

This repository policy is compliant with open-access mandates by major research funders, academic institutions, and international initiatives (e.g., Plan S, BOAI).

7. Monitoring and Corrections

Authors must ensure the accuracy of deposited versions and may update them in repositories when errata, corrections, or retractions are issued. IJASEIT will notify authors and provide updated metadata where necessary.
